Job Description

We are seeking a highly driven Quant Developer to join HSBC’s Core Quant Analytics team. This role is integral to supporting Credit and Capital Management functions and shaping advanced tooling for capital-efficient products across HSBC’s Wholesale Analytics Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize global code base while proactively participating in peer reviews.
  • Design and develop new capabilities to align with strategic vision within Felis Wholesale Analytics Platform.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Group Risk Analytics, Treasury, Finance, and IT to embed DevOps best practices.
  • Support statistical profiling of diverse data sets impacting return on equity and pricing optimization.
  • Drive integration of quantitative tooling into increasingly automated, tech-driven asset class processes.
  • Provide advisory input and collaborate with client-facing teams in designing capital/resource-efficient solutions.
  • Ensure projects align with HSBC’s internal control and regulatory compliance policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in production-level model deployment and analytical system design.
  • Hands-on expertise in OOP, software architecture, test-driven development, and code optimization.
  • Proficiency with SQL / NoSQL and API integration knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, commercial acumen, and ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Broad banking/financial services experience, especially in credit, rates, or cash management markets.
  • Fluency in Python and/or C++, with a solid understanding of data analytics and financial modeling.
  • Strong verbal/written communication with ability to deliver results both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in analytics, quant, or strategy functions with a keen eye for financial data insight.
