Job Description

The UK Home Office is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as Director General of the Homeland Security Group. Based in London, this high-impact role leads national security strategy and cross-government coordination on homeland threats including terrorism, state threats, cybercrime, and economic crime.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development across Homeland Security Group and manage a £1.5 billion budget.
• Serve as a senior adviser to the Home Secretary and Ministers on homeland security matters.
• Directly oversee 6 Directors and approximately 1200 staff, including a private office.
• Coordinate the national Counter Terrorism system and lead inter-agency collaboration.
• Shape cross-government capability and strategy on homeland threats in collaboration with intelligence agencies, police, and international partners.

Requirements

• Hold or be willing to obtain Developed Vetted (DV) security clearance.
• Substantial experience working successfully with security and intelligence agencies.
• Proven ability to manage significant departmental budgets and implement strategic programs.
• Deep understanding of Whitehall government operations and interdepartmental dynamics.
