Job Description

We are currently hiring a Network Operations Technician to join our Customer Field Services team covering areas such as Leeds, Ripon, York, and Colburn. This role is remote with field duties, requiring rotational work patterns on a 4-on, 4-off basis including weekends and varying shifts. If you’re hands-on, resilient, and passionate about delivering a first-time fix for sewer network issues, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various vehicle types based on task requirements and availability.
  • Safely investigate and resolve sewerage system issues, ensuring long-term solutions.
  • Undertake site investigations, complete POWRAs, and report environmental impacts.
  • Use IT tools like Toughbooks to input and report field data accurately.
  • Support installation of Customer Sewer Alarms and liaise with third parties when needed.
  • Ensure all work adheres to strict health and safety standards and internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and contractors to resolve operational network issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in customer-facing roles and excellent communication skills.
  • Full UK driving license with no more than 6 points.
  • Practical mindset and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and think critically under pressure.
  • Preparedness to work in confined spaces and pass relevant medical checks.
  • Flexible availability to participate in out-of-hours rotas after training.
  • Experience working with utility or wastewater systems is highly beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of sewerage system performance and drainage operations.
  • Basic proficiency in IT systems applicable to utility field work.
  • Commitment to health and safety, with a proactive attitude in identifying risks.
  • Strong team collaboration and problem-resolution mindset.
