Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Patrol stations and trains to tackle fare evasion, crime, and disruptive behavior.
  • Safeguard vulnerable passengers by collaborating with station teams and British Transport Police.
  • Physically intervene when necessary, following full conflict de-escalation training.
  • Support investigations by collecting evidence and reporting minor incidents.

Requirements

  • Must reside within 45 minutes of the assigned depot (Chatham, Dover, Orpington, Sittingbourne, or Tonbridge).
  • Successful completion of Level 2 Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) by the British Transport Police.
  • Must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle conflict and remain composed under pressure.
  • Experience dealing with the public in challenging or customer service scenarios.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working with limited supervision.

Work Schedule

  • Shift patterns include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Typically, one week of early shifts is followed by three weeks of late shifts.
