Job Description

The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) is seeking a skilled and analytical Case Review Manager to investigate and analyse suspected miscarriages of justice. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of complex criminal cases, working with experts from a variety of professional and scientific disciplines, and making impartial recommendations on whether cases should be referred for a fresh appeal.

Responsibilities

• Manage and investigate complex criminal case portfolios, ensuring thorough and timely reviews.
• Conduct interviews with applicants, witnesses, and liaise with experts from various forensic and scientific fields.
• Plan and prioritise workloads to balance multiple cases effectively.
• Examine case material from a variety of professional bodies and ensure all sides are considered objectively.
• Support casework processes by collaborating with administrative and legal teams.

Requirements

• Ability to analyse complex evidence with impartiality and objectivity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Resilience and adaptability when dealing with sensitive or challenging cases.
• Proficiency in legal research and understanding of criminal law developments.

Qualifications
