Job Description

Join Brent Council as a Domestic Abuse Act Officer and play a crucial role in ensuring the council meets its obligations under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. This is a strategic, non-victim-facing role focused on improving systems, partnerships, and community responses across the borough.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Brent’s partnership efforts and enhance consistency in responses to domestic abuse and VAWG.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with councillors, statutory agencies, and community partners.
  • Support compliance with the Domestic Abuse Act through internal council improvements and external engagement.
  • Collaborate on multi-agency operating strategies, ensuring implementation of effective protocols and service standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to influence and collaborate across sectors.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of analysing complex policy and legal frameworks.
  • Demonstrable passion for driving change and improving the lives of survivors of domestic abuse.

Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and safeguarding legislation.
  • Proven experience working within multi-agency environments and facilitating strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in supporting change initiatives or council transformation efforts.
