Job Description

The British Museum is seeking a Philanthropy Officer: Stewardship to support a growing portfolio of donors and facilitate meaningful engagement as part of one of the most significant cultural redevelopment projects globally—The Masterplan.

Responsibilities

  • Track key deadlines, donations, and communications using the CRM system.
  • Contribute to planning donor tours, events, and engagement opportunities.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with mid- and high-level individual and institutional donors.
  • Support fundraising campaigns through tailored stewardship plans.
  • Assist in donor solicitation and prospect engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve under pressure.
  • Proven experience in donor stewardship or stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Self-starter who thrives both independently and in team environments.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education in a subject requiring strong writing skills, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong administrative and database skills, ideally with CRM systems.
