Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Biobank Biodiversity Data & GIS Officer to join Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service’s outstanding and expanding Ecology team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for biodiversity data services and GIS mapping activities.
  • Assist the Biobank Manager in coordinating volunteer programmes and data collection initiatives.
  • Support community engagement and work with local groups and partner organisations.
  • Contribute to data analysis and evidence gathering for conservation and planning efforts.
  • Offer assistance to senior ecology team members under the guidance of the Biobank Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently and work occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Familiarity with environmental records, GIS tools, and biodiversity databases.
  • Motivated and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Passion for conservation and environmental data stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Suitable for candidates early in their ecology or planning careers.
  • Working toward professional membership (e.g., CIEEM) is advantageous.
